Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge
Marshland Access and Main Entrance Road Improvement Project
Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge is preparing for phase two of a road improvement project on the refuge. The Marshland Access and Entrance Road improvement project is a large-scale project to enhance access on both roads.
Road improvements at the refuge’s Entrance Road are anticipated to resume on April 15th. The Entrance Road will be closed to all traffic (vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians) during this time. Visitors will be able to enter the refuge through the Marshland Access (located on Hwy 35/54 about 5 miles west of Centerville) while the Entrance Road is under construction. A detour route will be posted directing traffic to our alternate entrance. Refuge hours for public visitation remain from sunrise to sunset. We encourage visitors to call the refuge office for the most up-to-date information at 608-539-2311. Construction updates will be posted on our website as well: https://www.fws.gov/refuge/trempealeau
This project has an anticipated completion date of June 30th.
Thank you for your patience as we work to improve your National Wildlife Refuge.
