Xcel Energy is beginning preparations for a maintenance project on our transmission line that runs along West Prairie Road. This project will begin mid-December and end later in February. As part of our preparation work, we will have crews working on access driveways to the line next week where West Prairie Road crosses near the Trempealeau Refuge driveway. We will be adding some temporary gravel to act as a tracking pad. Once we are done with our project later in February, this gravel will be removed. There shouldn’t be any need for lane closure, but we will have caution signs out to alert motorists.

 

As we get into the winter, there will be times where we will need to set-up on the road and close a single lane. These lane closures will be just during the day and we will have flaggers to direct traffic around our work zones.
